Farsight Privacy Policy
Farsight is an iPhone and Apple Watch app from Parallel 41 LLC ("Parallel 41," "we," or "us") that recommends when to leave for a road trip based on the weather, road reports and traffic along the route. This policy explains what the app collects, where it goes, and how to delete it.
No account
Farsight signs you in with a random ID. It never asks for your name, email address or phone number.
Planning a trip
What you type about a trip, your trip profile (vehicle, riders, limits), the route and the forecasts along it are sent to Farsight's server and on to Anthropic, PBC, whose Claude model writes the advice. Farsight's server doesn't keep what you send; it records how many requests each random ID makes, to enforce limits and track costs.
Location
Farsight uses your location during a drive you start, and once when you plan a trip without saying where you're starting, to start from where you are: the town you're in goes to Farsight's server and Anthropic with your trip, and the exact spot to Apple Maps for the route. During a drive, at each road check, the car's position is sent to Farsight's server and Anthropic in the same way, and to Apple Weather and the National Weather Service for local forecasts. Positions are also saved in the trip log on your iPhone.
Maps, weather, traffic and roads
Apple Maps works out your route and predicted traffic. Apple Weather and the National Weather Service receive the locations of places along it. Road reports are downloaded by Farsight's server from state transportation departments; your location is never sent to them.
Farsight Plus
If you subscribe, Farsight sends Apple's signed record of your purchase (the plan, its dates and Apple's transaction number; never your name or payment details) to Farsight's server, which links it to your random ID to unlock Plus. Apple handles the payment. Apple also tells Farsight's server when a subscription renews, ends or is refunded. Farsight's server counts the trips each random ID plans, for the free trip.
Tesla (optional)
If you choose to connect a Tesla, you sign in with Tesla directly; Farsight never sees your Tesla password. With your consent, Farsight reads your Tesla account's email (to show which account is connected) and your vehicle's name, VIN, battery level and estimated range shortly before a planned trip, only when the car is already awake, to plan charging stops and arrival times. Farsight doesn't read the car's location or send it commands. The access Tesla grants is stored encrypted on Farsight's server along with the latest reading. Disconnecting in the app deletes all of it right away; you can also revoke Farsight's access from your Tesla account.
Tesla may use information submitted through its API in accordance with the Tesla Customer Privacy Notice.
On your iPhone
Your trip history, ratings and trip logs stay on your iPhone. They leave it only if you tap Export and choose where to send them. Deleting Farsight deletes them.
What we never do
No ads, no analytics, no tracking across apps, and your data is never sold.
Deleting your data
In the app, Profile → Delete my data removes everything Farsight's server holds for your random ID (usage and trip counts, your subscription record, and a Tesla connection if you made one), then clears the app. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your devices. A Farsight Plus subscription stays with your Apple ID; cancel it in Settings → your name → Subscriptions. If you can't use the app, email us and we'll delete your data within 30 days.
